Pabda also known as the Bangladeshi Butterfish, is a small sweetwater fish that holds a special place in Bengali kitchens. Unlike larger catfish, Pabda has no scales and just one large bone in the middle. One popular preparation is Pabda Macher Tel Jhaal.
